Cyclist Culture: Pedaling Attitude

American is car country, but bicycles and bicyclists are making their play for the roads. There's been a big surge in bicycle commuting. Maybe it's you or your workmate rolling freshly-exercised into the office. And then there's the weekend distance rider and the off-to-the-market rider. All the tribes: the roadie, the mountain biker, the messenger. And all the attitudes: the righteous cyclist, the lone wolf, the captains of contraption. We're talking this hour with New York's famous Bike Snob blogger and a biking maven from Portland, Oregon. This Hour, On Point: All about biking now.<br>Listen Here: http://bit.ly/aQgXpa<a

Guest Columnist - Justin Thiltgen

Are you acting sustainably? Odds are you do at least once each and every day...stop and think about it. Maybe you turn off the faucet while you brush your teeth, maybe you take the time to separate your recyclables from the garbage, perhaps you set the thermostat just a few degrees cooler, or like many people, you are constantly hounding your kids to shut off the lights, (or maybe your kids constantly insist that you turn off the light.) These are just a few ways that everybody is able to act sustainably and are both environmentally and economically beneficial. Sustainability touches everything you do; saving money, saving resources and eliminating waste make good economic sense.
